Jeff, there have been multiple threads on VAF over the years concerning the Archer antennae. I have the NAV antenna in my RV-6 and it offers good performance. But the Archer COM antenna has a much less favorable field history, offering considerably less performance than a standard whip antenna mounted on the airframe exterior. it is unlikely you would be happy with the COM antenna if you expect performance similar to a whip antenna.
