All,
Paul and Louise have once again generously offered their hanger for the April builders get together at Polly Ranch airpark in Friendswood. Plan is for Saturday April 16th, starting around 11am and wrapping up around 1:30pm.

Stay tuned for any specific instructions for landing at the airpark or directions for anyone who has not been to their place in the past.

Thanks in advance Paul/Louise

Kevin

And....that's why we're going to try and wrap up at our place by 1330 - gotta get down to Bruce's before somoene else eats all the crawfish! ;)

The G3X should be all powered up and running in the -3 for folks that want to see what it looks like - Synthetic Vision, Pathways and all. (I might have to put it in Demo Mode and take it out ot the mountians if you want to see anything but flat Texas coastal prairie...)

Man I wish I could go to that, but I am going to San Fransisco to look at Brad Oliver's kit and plan on shipping back to Houston. I am looking forward to going from a "rv wanna be" to an "RV builder". You guys have fun.

Looking forward to meeting some of ya'll soon.

Kyle,

Sorry you can't make it... we're gonna miss you. While you're out buying a new kit, it would be awesome if she's available to have your new bride and future building partner, Shevon, in attendance at the gatherings. If she were to arrive at Paul and Louise's for the builder's meeting, I assure you that we'll take good care of her. Also, if she wants to go to Hoot's crawfish boil & fly-in afterward, we'll provide proper escort and introductions. This is a rare opportunity to meet, greet, have fun, and make new friends! Congratulation on the new RV-7!

Regards,

10:45 Rally at Pearland

All,
As previously mentioned, we will be starting a little earlier today and have the potential for planes to be parked at Pearland Regional (Clover Field). Anyone driving with available car space, please swing by the Pearland tie downs at approximately 10:45 to shuttle any pilots/passengers. Its a 10 min drive from there.

Thanks,
Kevin

Perfect weather....right now

Only a slight breeze currently favoring R29 and that's what folks are currently using, if you have contacted us and plan to fly in. R29 usually gives an annoying bobble as you drop over the trees on the approach end. The residents know to NOT try and shot for the numbers. (R11 is the preferred runway when winds allow.

Mikey and the Valkyrie are out in front of the burnt orange hangar. It's about 7 houses west of the northeast corner of the airpark. Should be easy to figure out.

Hope to see many of you here in an hour or two.

We want to thank everyone who came by today for making it a GREAT Houston RV Builder's Get-together! We have to do some photo analysis yet, but Louise estimates more than 30 people at the peak - and a few that showed up after that. We were glad to open the hangar for everyone to enjoy some airplane time, see a few RV's, and talk building techniques.

This was a VERY busy day in Houston GA - safety seminar at West Houston, open house at Baytown, a couple of different fly-in parties - and we thank you all for spending a little time with us...before WE ran off to another party (by airplane of course) ourselves....:)

Yep. A great time

Here's a few photos from the Houston's RV Builder gathering. A special thanks to the folks who helped with set up, clean up, and grilling.

Some arrived in style

IMG_5258.JPG

The gusty cross-winds proved challenging to some and turned at least one plane back to the home field.

The flying planes were scrutinized.

But, Junior was the star of the day.

Carl helped grill.

Everyone helped eat!

Thanks for hosting! I can't wait to get started on my project. I'm amazed how far Junior has come in the 2 months or so since I was last out at the hangar.

Sorry I missed it. :(

The In Laws were in town and I had to take them to IAH for their flight. Otherwise I would have made it.

Best story.....

I forgot to mention in my report out that we had one fly-over RV-er check in. I heard on the radio a call for "Anyone on the radio at Polly Ranch?" I grabbed my brand new birthday present (a new Icom hand-held radio received early on Saturday...just for this event) and replied.

"It that Louise?"
"Yep."
"Sorry I can't make the gathering, I'd really like to be there but I have to work. Just thought I'd check in while flying over in the 737." :D

Good handheld radio! We're sorry you and Phil missed the fun, too.

Louise, Paul,
A big thank you for another wonderful hosting! Can't thank you enough for the hospitality as well as the help with the building questions. It was a great time.

Kevin

Is there an email list to get the these notifications? I have been to two of these and found out either here or word of mouth.

Edit: I finally found it. Google is an amazing thing!
Thanks,
Shannon
