Wondering if folks have been using the the AOA/Pito probe from Dynon rather than using the pito in spinner on Rotax setup...reason for asking is, if this was used then prop/spinner change would be easier/less complicated?? Also are you using hookup kit from dynon?? And the mounting kit from other vender?? Dick

I added a Dynon heated pitot/AOA to the wing of my -12. I used a SafeAir pitot mast and quick disconnects to keep wing removal and installation fairly simple. Not sure how it compares with the spinner pitot for maintenance access, but it is a lot more work to install and plumb the Dynon pitot. I have seen several good examples of doubles/mounting brackets by other -12 builders, needless to say if the wing skins are not on you have a lot more options for brackets and plumbing conduits.

There is no problem taking off the spinner and adjusting the prop with the stock pitot. It stays in place the whole time.

You can retrofit an AOA addition very easily for about $12 in parts. Read this entire thread, particularly post 14 and onward. http://www.vansairforce.com/community/showthread.php?t=34040
