While researching alternators, I ran across Hartzell's page but haven't seen anyone using them. They even have a 90 amp model! Not sure how good they are or if they will fit on a 540. I'm planning on a heavily electical set up so would like the extra capacity but respect dependability as well.

If memory serves me correctly the people that now own Hartzell also own Electro Systems which had the manufacturing rights to most of the certified legacy starters and alternators used on piston GA aircraft. They also, as of the middle of 2014, own the Plane Power line of starters and alternators.

Only Plane Power alternators was sold to Hartzell. Skytech starters was not part of it and still remains in Granbury, TX.
