I had my lens fitted nicely and final drilled and dimpled the skin for the #6 flush screw. Then While installing the lens it shattered. (Shop was cold and I was not done smoothing the lens edge)

I have a spare lens to fit in its place but I’m concerned the dimples in the skin will prevent me from locating the holes for a proper fit.

I have a trick for holding the lens.. might not solve your cracking issue though. You have the plastic countersunk deep enough to accept the skin dimples?

My tip is that is used a folded piece of masking tape stuck to the lens to act as a handle. Sounds simple, but before I thought of it, I couldn’t get the lens and screws lined up..

Unscrew the light mount and push out of way. Reach in thru the outboard rib and push the lens from behind.
