After 15 years of skiing for a week in Colorado, Utah or Idaho on my annual geezer ski trip I now find myself being the last geezer still standing. I was the baby of the group by 10 years and the group dwindled to just 4 about 5 years ago and now I am the last one. I thought about the Atlanta ski club and one of their trips, but at age 66 I am not sure that is for me as my wife does not ski and I have little in common with the younger generation.
Then I thought about the RV drivers at Sun n Fun and Oshkosh and how much we all have in common regardless of age , etc.

I was thinking of a ski trip to Breckinridge Co in Late Jan or early Feb.
4 nights lodging and 3 days of skiing or possibly longer. It could be over a weekend or just Tues to Sat whatever.

If you have any interest just respond to the thread or PM me.

Look me up if your in CO.

My RV isn't flying yet, but if you find yourself in CO let me know. I'm always up for skiing. Winter Park is the resort that I frequent, Granby(GNB) is the nearest field.

I'm really hoping for some better snow than that last two seasons.

Do you have a ski tube for your 6A? I'm trying to figure out how to build one into my 8.

Same here - my RV is not flying yet (FWF and cowling work) but I've got a 172 and I love Winter Park and Breckenridge. If the weather is ugly there is always Southwest...

Ski Trip

I was thinking the same thing. Most of my friends don't bounce as well as they use to so they don't want to go skiing. I have a 2nd home 20 minutes from Beaver Creek and 30 minutes from Vail. Best view in the Vail valley. My plan was to spend a week out there in January or February. I can offer a place to stay if a group is formed.

Looks like we might have some possibilities here. Turbo I ski the blues and light black not what you are showing in the pic. I don't have a ski tube for the RV or plan to fly it in the Rockies in the winter. I will get there by Delta or Southwest.

Let's see who else this thread attracts and make some plans shortly.

Are you anti-snowboard?

I haven't indulged in the recreational white powder in some time, so I am sure I am out of practice, but recreation, booze, flying stories with strangers...I'm in!

Sking

I would like to come, if work will let me? Can Carol be with me or is this a guy only trip? She will not ski. but will keep the fire going.
Please keep me in the loop too!

I retired this year and am in the process of moving out of the Peoples Socialist Republic of Kalifornia. I learned to ski over 40-years ago and the RV is equipped with ski rack. I have been scheduling things since I retired but so far, skiing has not been one of them. Once a date and location is set, I may be be able to make it if I have not scheduled something else yet. Would live to get to ski in some of the Utah Powder.

Could also schedule a Oregon ski trip at Mt. Hood for August and also make the Homecoming. Yes they ski on a glacier in the summer. Last time I skiied there the US and Canadian ski teams were there practicing. Timberline Lodge is also a fantastic place to say.

Park City, UT

I have a condo in Downtown Park City. Hopefully, I can fly up to Heber after some snow and spend the weekend skiing. I always go last minute, as rental income is first priority. But next time I go, I can post to see if anyone wants to join me.

Park City, Heber area might be doable for us. The daughter lives in Camas just down the road, so we are always looking for a reason to go there.

As long as you don't frown on Snowboarding knuckle draggers:D

I haven't been on skis for about 10 years, but used to make annual pilgrimages to Colorado. Maybe it's time again. No ski tube in the RV, but will rent skis anyway. Feb or Mar would work best.
