I just bought the anti-splat no-hassle pre-heater, which seems to have gotten very good reviews here. It did't come with any technical data though. Does anybody know how many amps this draws? I want to use an internet-switchable plug that is rated for 15A - will this work?

Says it uses 2.1 amps on the bottom of the page (assuming American power standards)

i installed mine and turned it on after adding oil to the sump. Yes, the nut of mine also gets quite hot.... which i took to mean it's working. At the beginning i heard sort of a gurgling sound which seemd to go away after maybe 20 seconds. I don't know what that sound could have been.... hopefully not boiling oil!

Yes it was. Makes me nervous its gonna melt the wires.

I'll give a other positive review on this product. It's really nice having it hooked-up to an internet-enabled elecrical switch, so i can activate it an hour before i get to the airport. I'm using it even in the summer, so that when i start the plane the oil is already at 100 degrees and i don't need to sit for 5-10 minutes warming the engine!
