When setting up an a/c with dual comms, is it possible or practical to use a single comm antenna? Since you will only transmit or receive on one comm at a time it seems possible.

I had the same question! It does work a friend of mine tryed it. but from my understanding when you transmit the power travel's up to the other radio and can damage it. I was told go with two antennas. thats what I'm going to do one out the belly and one in the wing tip.

struggled with the same question

I asked the same question and finally decided to go with a belly antenna for comm1 and a top of the fuselage antenna for comm2. The antenna coupler is just a little cheaper or about the same price as a com antenna. Just run some wire and you have two independent comm systems.

I wonder if one can get a switch to switch the antennas where one can transmit on antenna 1 then switch it and transmit on ant 2?

Be a quick way to ck a weak radio or antenna.

Best of luck.
