Hi Tim,
I mounted mine right in the center of the floor panel instead of the left side of it as it shows in the plans.
I will try to take a picture when I get out to the hanger for you.

That helps a bunch. What thickness of aluminum did you use?

The plate the valve is mounted to is .060 thick ( I didn't want it to move) with the nut plate installed on the bottom . Then when the top sheet is in place the screws go thru everthing to the nut plates.

Tim, My solution FWIW is here. I think if you scroll down to 3 Dec 06 you will see it. I am reasonably pleased with the result. It is for the Adair valve. I joggled a bit of ally by putting it in the vice with a bit of 1/8th offset each side.
