I need some help.
I installed a MAP backup 2 1/4 instrument, bought from Van's.
I noticed that when I push the PTT button (GNS430W) on my stick grip MAP goes quickly to zero. The phenomenon is similar with the SL40 (slightly better).
I recall that when installing the MAP sensor, I had to wire 4 wires and these wires did not appear to be shielded.
Any idea on how to solve this issue with minor work?
Thanks.

I had same problem with Van's electrical MAF instrument and there was only 4" long wires between instrument and sensor - it's very sensitive for interference!!!

I changed shielded (and maybe twisted pair) cable between instrument and sensor and the length of the cable is now two feet because I changed same time the place of the sensor from instrument panel to firewall. Now it works fine.
