I dreaded attaching my B&C backup alternator to the vacuum pad after reading all the horror stories about getting that nut at the lower port position attached, let alone torqued. But, with the right pmag removed and a snall magnet to hold the nut inposition and the Snapon crowsfoot, it took 30 mins!

Agreed. The key to making this task easier and even bordering on easy is to remove the right mag (or P-Mag). With the P-mag removed a standard wrench and extended crow's foot allows for relatively easy torquing of the nut.

I like the Snap on or other crowsfoot becuz a torque wrench can be attached. Actually, a cheap 1/4” drive crowsfootcod be fabbed very easily cor a lot less than the $50 for the Snapon.
