Hey guys-

Thinking about going with an ASX-1 as our backup in the 6. We think for the type of flying we do, it should be plenty. IFR certified, but only use it for IFR cross country, IFR on top stuff. If it's 500' over at the destination, we will take another aircraft.

The primary reason we are looking at a backup at all is if we got caught on top of a layer and needed to get down through it.

So, the ASX-1 is being considered.

We are thinking about using a rechargeable 9V powered/charged by the main bus, but am not exactly sure about the best way to go about realizing a solution for this and thought someone else may have tackled it already?

Anyone?

Thanks

Jeff
