I have some old alodine (a couple of years at least) that made some strange colors when I was using it. The color is usually brown, but it made a few spots of bright green. Any Chemist that know what the reaction was all about. The parts were washed, alumipreped, then dunked for about 10 minutes in full strength alodine (as full strength as 2 year old stuff can get).

What's with the green color?

As always - thanks.

When I tried dunking instead of spraying, the alodine turned color like you indicated.
I decided to go back to a handy little pump spray bottle.
After a year it was still OK and the color was still true when I used it.
I wonder if that could be it?
