I spent Sunday flying around Pennsylvania with a trio of Citabrias, landing on nothing but grass. The highlight was a visit to the Golden Age Air Museum at Grimes Airfield (8N1). Here's a weblog of the day. Enjoy.

Great pics Bill, as usual! Such nice weather, pretty grass... need some of that down here in Texas.

Flying with Citabrias

So what was your speed and fuel burn while flying with the Citabrias? I'm guessing a bit slower and less fuel than most cross country flying in a RV7.

The Citabrias were averaging around 110-115mph so I was throttled back considerably. I think I ran 2100 RPM and MP 15-18 maybe. The nice thing was my fuel flow rate was 5 gph! I used to have a Citabria and I was burning at least 7-8 gph at that speed.
