Anyone ever flown to the balloon festival? What airport? Where to stay? Any other comments.

I occasionally fly to ABQ for work and a couple years ago one of my trips coincided with the festival. I always park at KABQ because it's close to my office. Cutter is a very good FBO there. Albuquerque has plenty of hotels to choose from but book early as some of them will fill up. Enjoy!

KAEG

I was comfortable at Double Eagle KAEG during Baloon Fiesta. Plenty of tiedowns, good weather.

Double Eagle II

KAEG is very convenient location but the fuel prices are pretty high.
Stop down in Belen (E80) for cheaper fuel.
Plenty of room, friendly airport.
