Just wondering if this is the newest version of the document. The installation of this kit by NOV RV in the link below shows that it is better if the rear bracket is mounted the reverse, facing forward.

Yes, the newest. Reversing that rear bracket for mix control cable helps to give you a better clearance from the exhaust aft of the engine. At least for the Lycoming - FM 150 - VANS stock exhaust, set up.
