New to maintaining a shop size air compressor. Need recommendations please on which brand/type of oil to use. I have a new 60 gallon upright compressor - two cylinders, which has about 30 hours running time so far - used in remodeling my house. I'll get to the RV kit sometime this year I hope.

Also, how often should the oil be changed? Thanks for considering this request.

Any good quality oil is fine. Compressors are not that "picky".

I change my compressor oil annually.
I also drain water from the tank daily.

One thing for upright tanks is to put in a street ell in place of the drain valve, add a straight nipple long enough to get it about two inches from the edge of the tank, and add a ball valve.

You can now drain the tank without having to lay on the floor.

That's exactly what I did. I then ran a small hose from there through the wall so that it drains outside.
