Ok I solved the puchrods rubbing situation and now im trying to set the travel on the ailerons. The manual said there was a template in the packing crate for setting the angles not im my crate. I have been trying to set the angles using a straight edge and a protractor. I think the idea is sound and if so i have 25 up and 18 down plans call for 30 up and 20 down. Any ideas on a more accurate way to go about doing this? RV3

The template should have been drawn on the bottom of the top of the crate. You cut the template out of the crate top.

angle finder!? I think that's the name....

These are little circular, bottom weighted pointers that have a 360' scale that the pointer indicates degrees of angle on. They usually have a magnet on the bottom. Find them at any tool store, just about!
Then you can measure how many degrees of deflection by comparing the two positions, easy!!

Maybe using a digital level secured on the aileron would make this task a little easier and more accurate???
