I am considering the FM200 servo with the horizontal Superior cold air sump.

Did the cowl have to be modified to get the Vans snorkel to fit?

I know the FM150 is a drop in replacement for the Bendix RSA-5 Servo and is an option but it is more expensive so the excellent FM200 is still under consideration but not if the cowl has to be modified or the snorkel air flow disturbed due to modification. Seems to me snorkel flow is already a bit constricted where it turns to meet the attach flange and any change in that area sure won't improve its performance.

I used the Rod Bower Ram Air with the FM150 on my 390 RV8.
The added performance is great and it is a much easier installation than the Vans snorkel
