Hello,

I'm trying to look at Bob's latest electric schematics in revision 12A of the AEC and they seem to all be cut. I am not sure if that's because it was a free download and the book is usually sold or if my viewer just stinks?

Am I missing something here?

Thanks!

I just tried to download the pdf, and it's hanging at about 30% according to the progress bar. He's recently mentioned to a new member on the aeroelectric list that they can download it for free, so it's probably just a glitch with the server or possibly with the file itself. I'd shoot him an email to let him know you're having problems.

Thanks Charlie! Is this mailing list a place I can join as well?

Bob does not work that way, free is free. What are you missing? I just accessed and downloaded the file. Post your email in a cryptic way and I will send it to you, or confirm that the diagrams are there.

Sorry; I just assumed that you were already a member. Here's the link to Matronics.com, that hosts the Aeroelectric list where Bob hangs out. You can join in forum form, similar to VAF, or in traditional email list form, where you get either summaries of the day's posts or individual emails (your choice).

http://www.matronics.com/

Getting to the actual list subscription page is 'multi-step', so here's the direct link:
http://www.matronics.com/subscribe/

Just follow the instructions to subscribe/join in whatever format works for you.

Bill, thank you! I didn't mean anything, just wanted to make sure its free the way i understand and i'm not stealing anybody's hard work. Cause it's obvious hard work was put into this book.

My appendix Z. All the schematics or most of them rather are cut meaning I can't put together the schematics and get the full picture. Namely Z13-8 and Z-14.

But honestly if you can send me all of Appendix Z i'd be most grateful. Email is daniel at schonfeld dot org

Thanks a lot!

The PDF is on it's way. It seems Z13-8 is not in the document. The doc says " not used"

Bob is a great guy and sharing is what he does, refreshing to share technical information in this world of pay for everything. Wouldn't it be great to be able to read all those technical papers like ASME, SAE, IEEE and others for free? After all, once published the information is not patent protected, but already is copyrighted, and when I published SAE (etc) papers, I paid for the privilege. Wouldn't we be a smarter society?

The forums look good, I recall this from the past. Is the pdf in an archive?

Thanks,

Bob

Tons of useful docs & reference materials on Nuckolls' website:
http://www.aeroelectric.com/

but the direct link to a free download is hard to find on the site. Google will take you to:
https://matronics.com/aeroelectric/Catalog/pub/pub.html

Scroll down below the table of contents box & look for a small hyperlink 'clicking here'.

You can buy a print version or a CDrom version by clicking the 'product' link on the main page.

A lot of stuff that Bob designed over the years (including sophisticated alternator regulator/OV protection boxes for single & dual alternator setups) is available for sale at B&C Specialty:
http://www.bandc.aero/index.aspx

IMO, anyone wiring a plane would do well to sign up for his list. You basically get free consulting from a guy who's pushed electrons on everything from military avionics to bizjets to GA to Experimentals, for decades. Plus a community similar to this one, to bounce ideas off of.

Just to confirm,

Dan is right, the schematics are cropped in the PDF file. Surely it is a mistake, as it renders them unusable.

Kudos!

Kudos for Bob Nuckolls !!!

He just sent me an email - the full text link and PDF has been repaired and can be downloaded now.

Can someone please post to Matronics so Bob can get some kudo's there?
