Quiet day on the board.......

Does anyone know where you can buy a variety of sizes of cushioned Adel clamps? Part Numbers are MS21919-.

I search Spruce's site and they only carry one size. I searched Wicks and they didn't have any. I thought Stein would bail me out, but they aren't listed on his site either.

Am I missing something somewhere? Is it something I should be picking up at Lowes instead?

Let me know. I'm gonna need sizes ranging from very small to very large.

I find that the ACS search engine could use some improvement. What I find helpfull is going to the parent category after a search. Adel is a good example.

As you found the adel search just yielded:

http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/0400920.php

Notice at the top of that page, there is a category called clamps. Click on that and it will take you to:

http://www.aircraftspruce.com/menus/ap/clamps.html

The first selection:

Is what you were really looking for. I find that ACS usually has what you need, it's just hard to find quite often and you have to play detective to find it. It seems that I have to go through this drill more often than not when looking for things on ACS.

I found it very helpful to keep ~dozen of every size from -2 through -16.

It probably cost me a little, but it sure is nice having a selection when you need a clamp. They are one of those things you add to the spruce order to justify the shipping ( along with 100 8r8 screws) for that part you just have to have.

MS21919 Ah Yes I remember it well

When I went to work at McDonnell Aircraft on the F-101 in 1958 as a radio and electrical inspector, one of the part numbers burned into my brain was MS21919... Later, during Al Gore's reinvention of government, maintenance of Mil specs was discontinued but before that the standards were rigidly controlled and nothing was left to guessing that the right parts were used etc. Anyway I did a few Google searches for MS21919 and I was able to come up with a free PDF copy of the Military Standard for these clamps at:

http://www.everyspec.com/MS+Specs/MS2/MS21919E_11247/

In the search Aircraft spruce always came up as a source for the old reliable cushion clamps.

ACS has fooled me on that item before also. I couldn't believe they didn't have them--I guess I was right, but lost:mad:
