Hello Everyone,

I'm looking to buy an RV-6 and want dual brakes. Is it an easy add-on to install copilot brakes on an already-built RV-6 with only pilot brakes?

Thanks,

Jim

It won't exactly be comfortable down under the panel, but it's certainly possible. In most cases, it's tough to pull the whole pedal assembly out. I pulled mine out for some reinforcing on the pedal mounts were were a subject of a service bulletin. I had to cut off some bolts with a cutoff wheel to do it, since the air vent ducts were right above some long bolts. The new bolts were reinstalled from the bottom up.

Otherwise, just pull out the seats, the right joystick, and lay some pillows around to get somewhat comfy.

Personally, I like the dual brakes. Quite often, two of us pilots fly my plane.
