How much horse power do you think that I could extract from the accessory case where the magneto was without wrecking the gear drive?

No idea about the mag drive, but if you have a pad for a 60 amp alternator that's about 1 HP.

Norman, that would be a question for Lycoming. In days past, we couldn't drive an air compressor from one of our accessory pads on the PT-6 turbine for that reason, so we have an electric motor driven air conditioning system in the belly....draws around 75 amps! Yep..it's hard on our starter generators, but so is 96? under a helmet
