I've been flying behind a Garmin GNC 300XL for almost 8 years. Luckily, I bought two a couple years ago when my primary stopped transmitting. Why? Because Garmin no longer supported them at any price and couldn't find a shop to work on it. I was down to a single radio when my next one just stopped transmitting, but I've finally found a shop that fixed the two.
Short Tronics out of Mankato, MN. I can't say enough about Chris Short's responsiveness and skills. He bench tested, fixed, upgraded firmware, and had them out-the-door in just a couple days. He repaired each for right at $300 a piece. A bargain!
