You're correct! I took that photo for an issue of the newsletter at Hicks that featured Carol's plane.
She's okay, minor cuts and bruises from what I've heard this afternoon. She's back at home at Hicks but the plane didn't fare as well as she did.
This was NOT an accident attributed to VAN's nosewheel design, it was caused by strong, gusty crosswinds.

Me too on both accounts. The wind would seem to have been right down 20, but with gusts you never know. The METAR isn't going to tell you how much the direction is changing.
