I ordered the 695 from Aircraft Spruce with a lap mount and a 12/24 charging cable. The 695 came yesterday.
There is no obvious box inventory in the box I received. That causes a little head scratching. There is a box inventory for both units at the Aircraft Spruce website and it was complete and consistent with what I found in the box.
One of the items in the box was a 12/24V charging cable so I was able to cancel one back ordered item.
The $50 lap mount caused me some concern because of the name. I could imagine something that extends across my lap (like my old IFR lap board) and block the stick movement. I called Aircraft Spruce and they did not know the configuration but they gave me a number to call at Garmin. I called Garmin and talked to the aviation specialist about it. I explained my concern and She did not know the configuration but said they are not expected to be available until mid December. I called back a little later and got the same specialist. I asked her to give me a phone number for the engineer or company that is developing the mount knowing that it is a question that could be answered by them. She said that she had checked into it since my earlier call and learned that the lap mount is being developed "in house" and that it is being developed specifically for aircraft that are controlled by a stick and it will not interfere with operation of the stick.
