well, my new wood prop arrived today.

Looks pretty good I think.

Ed suggested this pitch (68x72) for my 150 hp engine.

Has anybody out there used this prop/pitch on their 150 hp RV9?

I would like to hear from others using this setup to see how it works for them.

My Sterba prop is 70x79 (or is it 70x76?). Anyway, that size was suggested by Ed for my 160hp RV9. I now have 421 hrs on the prop/engine/airframe and no complaints. Typical cruise for me is 140kts at 2300rpm. I check and retorque the prop bolts at every oil change (50 hrs).
I would buy a Sterba prop again and will do so for my Hatz Biplane project when the time comes.

Seems like there's a big difference in pitch for the 150 hp engine.

Since I don't know much about these things, I just have to trust that Ed Sterba
knows his business.

I'll find out soon enough, I guess, how it going to work.

Dave,

No worries. I put my faith in Ed when I ordered the prop because I didn't know much either at the time. I knew I wanted F/P, wood, and couldn't spend too much. Sterba was the logical choice. Waiting time was longer than I wanted, which is usually the case with anything I order.
There are benefits to flying behind wood and I have no thoughts of changing my prop. Might go a little faster with metal but that is not important to me.
