Where do you find out what 'software' you have on the xm. updated the 496 software via USB, but couldn't have the xm plugged in as the USB cord was in it's place. thanks. larry

The 496 should automatically update the software in your GXM antenna/receiver, so I can't think of a great reason why you'd need to check it... but here is how you do it. With the XM antenna connected to the unit:
1. Go to the main menu (press Menu key twice)
2. Scroll down to the XM tab
3. Scroll right to the Information tab
4. Press Menu key once
5. Hilight "Antenna Information" and press Enter.
