when 'hard' wiring the 496 to power via the Garmin plug do you have to use the RCA jack to get audio, alerts, XM radio etc, or using the Garmin plug and wiring it up would be sufficient to run the audio thru intercom and headsets. thanks. larry b

Check the thread but yes you need to wire the audio. Very easy.
