Good weekend everyone,

I've been hooking up my avionics and making sure they all talk nicely to each other and I noticed that my GRT HX is reporting 1 volt less than all of the other avionics capable of displaying input voltage. My GRT HS shows 11.x volts but the GRT HX shows 10.x when running off battery power.

Before I go tearing into my wiring loom (my avionics were wired by Aerotronics a few years ago), is it correct to assume this is probably due to a bad splice in power wire feeding the HX?

Ebus

If you used the ebus wiring schematic that is pretty common then the emergency bus runs through a diode which will drop the voltage around .7V. If you have the switch to bypass the ebus diode you should see the voltage on that bus rise when the switch is turned on.

My EIS is on the ebus so it reads .7 lower than the main bus until I turn the ebus switch on.

Check with GRT...

These units have multiple power inputs, so there is probably an internal diode to isolate them, and that would account for the drop.
