I have a 12V DC outlet installed in my airplane but have found that it has compatability issues with the male ends on certain accessories. The power plug on my Lowrance Airmap, for instance, simply won't make a good connection to this particular DC outlet. Other devices sometime go intermittant.

So, who has a source/part number for a single 12v outlet which has worked well?

I am planning on using these "BMW" style plugs. They came standard on my BMW GS1150 and they are high quality plugs. They are rated for as much, or more amps than most cig lighter sockets, and much more durable and smaller. You will have to cut off and install this style male plug on your accesories (GPS, cell phone charger, etc) but its a simple conversion.

Kyle:

Been a while, but I think I got mine from Stein when I ordered a bunch of wiring etc. Have one in the back and two up front. Work great.

I just installed the Lowrance hard wire power cord with data output. Using it to drive the Dynon HSI function.
