When I fit the control horns to the completed Horizontal Stab skeleton there's about 1/16 inch of slop-- I can move the horn back and forth that much or a little more. Talked to Van's and they seemed surprised to hear that. Everything else mates up fine. I'm planning to make a shim (forward of aft spat web?).

Anybody else have this happen?

THANKS! When I called Van's this morning they seemed to be unaware of this and didn't mention anyone else having a problem! Guess they've got other things to fix and have forgotten.

E-mail with Van's (march);

"Van's

I clecoed together the spar box assembly and clecoed the WD-1207 & WD-1208 to the assembly.
After assembly there is a gap of about 3/32 inch between the spar box assembly and the control horns (see picture).
Please advice."

"Joeri, that has come up before. what you will need to do is make some shims that will fit into
those spots. You should put a shim on both sides to keep the horn in the center position.

Vans"

So I used a .030" shim on both sides.
