I can't make it till Thursday morning.

When I see a sailor and he is talking about the ol fish, I am thinking submarine dolphins. AKA the fish.

My thoughts too. I got my fish in 1984 aboard the Richard B Russell SSN-687

Default Another guess or two

It could be related to Jerry Fisher himself, or "Fish" Salmon or his experience in the Navy as a crew member on a capsule rercovery ship that "fished" a space capsule out of the ocean. I remember him posting about that experience previously.
