Default Good engine failure result

Just saw this on the local Albuquerque news. The report is an engine failure near Double Eagle airport and no injuries. From the photo it also looks like no damage (but not sure about the rudder and that fence). Good job.

I looked up the N number and was interested that the registered owner is an old college buddy and good guy. I say again; good job.

Good outcome, looks like a road made an excellent runway.

"hard landing"....."he thought it might be out of gas."
both are probably very far from actuality.

Looking closely at the rudder, it sure appears he backed it off the road, and it got away from him and hit the fence! Bummer.
