Default Subaru diesel (fork from Continental diesel)

Thanks for the info on the Subaru diesel. I was aware that it was being sold in Europe, but had no idea you could buy them here in the USA. ~150 hp @3600 rpm really sounds interesting. If the crank & main bearing could take it (& it likely can), direct drive would be possible using a small diameter controllable prop. With the right prop, it could climb almost like a 180 hp fixed pitch Lyc & eat its lunch at altitude. I emailed the company & asked about weight, & he said ~350 lbs. But that seemed to include a lot of stuff that would come off for a/c use (air conditioner, PS pump, etc. BTW, the name in my email address is 'RV7builder'; when he made the comment that it would be great to see one on an RV. He has a friend who has given him a ride in one & he loved it, so we might have a sympathetic vendor if someone decides to give it a shot.
