Default Trio AvMap wiring

I need to hook my AvMap to my Trio EZpilot. I found where they both are talking the same language, NMEA 0183. when looking at the AvMap output it has a TXA(yellow wire) which I assume is the output I'll use to the Trio. I'm also use this line to my Dynon D180.

Below is the Trio pinout. Looks like I can hook my AvMap TXA wire to the #7 pin. Bt do I need to hook #8 to ground or leave it off or ?

Brian,

Most likely it will work without connecting pin 8 if you have your GPS connected to ship power and a common ground. However, if you may sometimes run it on internal battery, I would hook it up.

Thanks Brian. I don't normally run off the AvMap battery, but occasionally I fire it up to program stuff without the Master. So to be safe I'll run one.

Thanks again
