Default Oil Qty

Dear friends, I have a RV-7 with a TMXIO-360 on raven inverted system, when i fill the engine with 8 quarters of OIL, teh dipstick show 4,5 qts, if i have more than 5,5 showed in the dipstik the oil goes out on inverted position by the breather tube from raven tank.

So i have the folowing questions:

Is the new oil filter and the inverted system 3,5 qts capacity (8 - 4,5)?
do i have to fill with more oil?
The engine run smoother and at good temperatures at 4,5 qts so if I can stay in that wold be great.

Regards

Remark the dipstick to be accurate to what you put into the sump and run the engine with a real 6-7 US quarts in the sump, regardless of any oil in the coolers or aerobatic system. In another words, you should have 6-7 quarts in the sump with cooler ,prop, filters, aero system full.
Good Luck,
Mahlon
