Default Skyradar

I just installed the skyradar L model in the plane yesterday afternoon. I had the PERFECT opportunity to test it out last evening as this weather had just moved through the Mobile/Gulf Coast/Pensacola area. By the time I had taken off from the Foley airport and reached 500 feet I was picking up adsb signals. The TAFS, METARS, Winds aloft and nexrad weather worked great. Here are two short videos of the nexrad in action. I can't explain why the nexrad picture in the first video is "chopped" like it is but at about the minute and 15sec mark, it looks like it updates and fills in the blanks. I tried to get a screen shot then pan outside so you can see what I saw. Nice rainbow too. The second video was when I was getting ready to land in Foley. The weather was all behind me back along the coastal areas to the south. As I turned to the left, you can see in the last few seconds of the video the weather it was painting. It was also so neat to be able to pull up metars for airports hundreds of miles away! I've not done it yet but I'm of the belief that this skyradar incockpit weather is going to be invaluable on a cross country!!!
