Default Tip: Threading screws

When starting a bolt or screw in a blind hole such as nut plates, and you do not want to run the risk of cross threading the bolt or screw. Just simply turn the bolt or screw backwards or counter clockwise until it makes a click sound or you can feel it make a click. This ensures you that the threads on the bolt or screw are set in the threaded hole and can be started with out the fear of cross threading. These are very old tips passed down from the Wright Brothers
