Default Deluxe Fuel Caps?

I'm getting the various options and accessories together for the wings. While I'm a little bit away from starting the tanks yet, I see that some folks are using Van's deluxe fuel caps, and this is a good time to consider that option.

How do they differ from the standard fuel caps?

Thanks!

Default Deluxe Locking Caps - Data Point

Dave,

I bought the Vans Deluxe locking caps for my fuel tanks. Having seen the standard ones that came with my kit, it was a no-brainer to upgrade. The filler flange is an issue for both (i.e. you have to alter the curvature of both to make them fit your wing skin well). The real selling point is the smooth operation of the mechanism in the deluxe caps vs. the "need a screwdriver/crow bar" operation of the standard caps. I bought the locking style b/c I wanted the ability to minimize tampering. Feel free to come by and check mine out in person, seeing as I'm so close to you (lakewood).

Mike
