Default 90 degree fitting in fuel pump

Is it OK to use a 90 degree fitting in the input of the fuel pump? I know they are used in the output side of the fuel pump. My fuel line is comig from the left side of the engine and I could use a shorter hose from my gascolator to the fuel pump if I used a 90 degree fitting.

My engine came that way from Aerosport, so I presume it's ok.
