Default Soldering Iron Temperature for Garmin x96/95 Internal Clock Battery Replacement

I have ordered the Varta batteries for this, and bought a you-beaut soldering station.
What temperature should I set the soldering station to when soldering the new battery?
Can I be pushy and ask any responders to specify if they are referring to Celsius/Centigrade or Farhenheit temperatures?
John

When soldering batteries to any printed circuit board, I tend to set my Weller soldering station to 600 degrees F and use regular plain old 60/40 solder. I keep the time of heat to the bare minimum amount to get the job done.

Neal
Thanks. I need all the advice I can get. Never tackled a circuit board before.

John, a small alligator clip on the component being soldered will help as a heat sink to keep it cooler. We often did this when we worked on transistors in our Army avionics classes.

Best,

Just be sure NOT to use an alligator clip to hold the battery on the top and bottom while you are soldering it in. The clip will short the battery.

I have done my 396 and just last Sunday did a friends 296, no problems if you are careful.

I used this battery:

Mike
Thanks for the link.
How did you use a flat head screwdriver to remove the nut from the antenna?
John
Edit - Mike, I just tried the nut holding the case to the antenna,
and it is easy to move with an artery forcep (= hemostat in US), and would be easy with a small flat head srewdriver, so question now redundant.
