Default Adel clamp on sump bolts

I'm running the wires for the alt/starter and plan on securing the wires to the sump bolts via adel clamps. Should I discard one of the flat washers to make up for the thickness of the adel clamp or get longer bolts? If I need longer bolts what # and where to get them.
Thanks,
Andy

They do make longer bolts - my parts manual is at the hangar but I think the parts are LW-25-0.94 for the 1/4x20 15/16" and LW-25-1.13 for the 1/4x20 1 1/8". If I recall, Lyc says these should be locally available but last summer when I overhauled an O-360, I wound up just getting hardware from an engine shop.

I've forgotten exactly what the Van's FWF plans call for - my solution was to use large adel clamps on the intake tubes that I attached to smaller adel clamps to hold the wiring. Leave some slack - for when the engine rocks around in the mount.

From a practical standpoint, the washer serves as a bearing surface for the fastener to rotate upon.

Theoretically, the adel would provide the same bearing surface.

I am looking at doing the same things as you are so I am interested in the response of others as far as their interpretation of AC 43.13b and how people are actually assembling these components.

Good question!

Default What my tech adviser told me to do

Was to replace the thick washer with a thin one to use with the clamp.
