Default Seasonal adjustment

With the first cold snap, the tip-up canopy skin of our (3 of us own/fly an RV6 not built by us) pinched the cowl skin at about the middle of the passenger side, resulting in a small pucker in the canopy skin. The builder did not install canopy stops as described in another thread, so we hope to apply stops made from stacked hard rubber pads, each .25"x1"x1" - looks like it will require slightly more than 5 for each side. Question is, is this a common problem, such that those that have installed canopy stops find that seasonal adjustment is necessary?

This RV6 does have a quick release canopy. If it becomes necessary to remove the canopy to correct the puckered skin, is there any reason not to use that function to do so?

Thanks in advance for your insights,

Mike V.
