Default Rivet gun

On the pulled rivets for the RV-12, is the nose of the rivet gun flat or concave?
I bought tools from a friend that built a Zenith 601 and his was concave so I just want to be sure that I use the correct one.
So far I haven't seen anything that tells me in the instructions, but I'm still unpacking the 1st kit and doing inventory.
Thanks
Terry

I'm sure you'll get more advice from a 12 builder soon, but I believe the zenith is built with Avex rivets which use a special rivet puller with a concave nose that forms the rivet head. I don't believe the 12 uses these so a basic handheld or pneumatic rivet puller is what you will want.

Common flat handheld or pneumatic rivet puller is what you want.

My rivet pullers (hand and pneumatic) are both flat.

I used a Harbor Freight pneumatic puller with a flat gripper face.

Default Replace the tip

You shouldn't need a new puller, you can just replace the tip.

Started some parts today and soon ready to start pulling!!

Zenith provides flush rivets with their kit and has you modify the puller to form the rivet into a "domed" head rivet.

If the head is modified correctly, it should fit a standard dome head rivet. Try a couple on scrap. It will likely work fine.

When I built a CH-601HDS, I flush riveted the entire airplane. So I never modified the puller head.
