Default Tip: Not Marring Adjacent Parts

Had to file a piece that was pressed against another piece and of course, couldn't risk marring the bottom part. I slipped a short piece of UHMWPE anti-chafe tape in between the parts for protection.

Worked great.

Mine is one of these "Wear-Resistant Slippery UHMW Tape" from McMaster.

I've found that about a 4" piece is really handy. Just stick it to something and you can work right against that without marring what's under it.

Great idea. Seems obvious in retrospect and glad you pointed it out!
