Wing Fuse Attack - skins?
I'm ready to attach the wings for the first time on my RV7, and have not yet completed rivet installation on bottom wing skins. Does anyone believe this is a significant issue? My main concern is potential of alignment change at final install.
Thanks,
Z

Sounds to me like you are not ready to install the wings if the wing skins are not riveted on yet. The wing structure can twist if the skins are not installed.

Yes, you'll definitely need all the wing skins riveted on before mounting the wings. The wing skins carry a good deal of structural load and need to be in place.

If this is a QB wing, with the top and LE skins riveted on, you will be fine. In fact I think its a good idea because it allows you to dimple the holes drilled for the fuselage skin overhang, instead of countersinking them. In older kits (-3,-4,-6) if there is a problem with the rear spar stub, its a lot easier to correct if the bottom skins and wing walk ribs aren't riveted.
