Default Great RV Videos

(Sorry about the duplicate post, but I found out the photo/video section doesn't allow discussion.)

How about we round up a bunch of links to RV building and flying videos? Some are posted in this forum section, but many aren't. Here's a few to get the ball rolling. Most of these are quite large, so you'll need a high-speed connection.

I have a great video on my PC at home, but I can't remember where I got it. It starts with some stills of the build process and the rest is from a vertical stab cam showing some great footage of flying through a valley and a landing clip. Anybody know where to find that one online?

For people that don't have a place to host a video or if you're taking your web site down, consider putting the videos on www.youtube.com. It's free.

Default RV Videos

Dave -

I think (I hope) I can lay claim to the video that you are referring to. I made that one, as well as two others, as part of a power-point presentation that I have given at various surgical meetings (I am a vascular surgeon) when they want a talk on something other than 'genes that control atherosclerosis', or 'the latest endovascular stent-grafts'. In addition to the one that you mention (the RV Finale video), I made one on the first flight and one about the extraction of my RV from the basement of my house (at the time) in downtown Washington, DC (ADIZ central).

Enjoy them - they need some updating as far as some of the stats that come up in the last video. I have DVD quality cuts of them if anyone is interested.

Yup, that Finale video is the one. I have it on my desktop at home and play it about once a month for inspiration. The acro shots are great, but when it switches to the SRV instrumental and the valley shot I'm ready for Proseal, canopy cutting, cowl fitting, or whatever the current challenge is. Thanks for posting that video.

Default youtube videos

Is there a way to watch these [youtube] videos without the 'flash' player installed?
flash/shockwave are just too resource hungry and I just can't bring myself to install them.

Default WAAAAAY COOL!

Jon,

Leave it to a surgeon to figure out how to extract the fuselage from a basement That was a great video, but the FINALE video takes the cake!

Very inspiring! I don't know how I missed it before, but I am glad it reappeared in this thread. Great stuff! Thanks for sharing.

BTW, in the Finale video...who plays the music in the ending segments. Great guitar work! It 'forced' me to whip out a little air guitar while listening/watching

That's the late, great Stevie Ray Vaughan. I believe the song is Lenny from Texas Flood. That'll definitely be in my iPod for a nice peaceful evening flight some day.
