Default Control cable spacing

I trial spaced my cables center to center......
Carb Heat-2 inches-Throttle-2 1/2 inches-Mixture-2inches-Alternate Air

Is this pretty close to what others have done?

You may want to look at the latest Kitplanes. I think there is an article on exactly this subject. From memory, I think they recommend 2 1/2 inch spacing and also talk about other location issues.

Regards,

Chris

I wouldn't put the alternate air control up on the console next to the throttle. The alternate air is a one-shot deal for use in an emergency, so if you pull it by accident it has to be reset on the ground. Hopefully you will never use it in flight. You want it to be easy to access, but also out of the way.

I made my own alt air door, .063 square plate with fiberglassed rails. I think it will be able to be open/closed during flight.

Where do you plan to locate the cabin heat? I was planning to locate the cabin heat where you are showing the alt-air - havent even considered the alt air yet.

Cabin heat separate from engine controls to the right, I am making my panel a little different though. Bottom rail semi-permanently attached for switches on the left, throttle/mix etc in the middle, cabin heat on the right. I just cut the bottom off the stock panel and attached it 3/4 inch lower to be flush with the bottom of the cheapo vents. Still in progress...
