Default RV-6A Mixture cable

We've just become the new owners of a very nice RV-6A. The builder used a simple detented type wire cable for the mixture which doesn't work very well. I'd like to replace it with a vernier-type mixture cable. The problem is that the mixture arm on the Precision Airmotive throttle body has a 1/4" hole and the mixture cable has a 10-32 threaded end. The only rod-end bearings I can find have 10-32 thread and a 3/16" bore.

How do I connect the mixture control cable to the mixture arm?

Thanks,
Adam Molny

what is the thread on the end of the vernier? This does not sound like something being done for the first time. So parts should be available.
